Yes, Houston, there is a huge cultural divide between the USA and Egypt

I looked at the photo below and thought OMG!  There is no way that would be acceptable in the USA if hell froze and thawed three times.  I cannot imagine any US citizen seeing this ever and not being genuinely repulsed. Except for those rare occasions when Americans are caught in the crossfire of a violent outburst in one of our public places, we are sheltered from violence.  For the
